Paula brings memories of afternoons spent with her grandmother and sun-filled Sundays in Minho. João Octávio brings curiosity, guided by meticulous attention to detail. João Pedro, the youngest, brings the instinctive nostalgia of someone who has always recognised the beauty in all that is Portuguese.

After years in London, amid hurried footsteps and the pace of corporate life, they found in Tavira the place where everything made sense again - where tradition, beauty and authenticity could become home.

Even before Mustique Gourmet took shape in Tavira, João Pedro Meira and his parents shared a clear idea: to create a place where Portugal could be appreciated with time, intention and beauty.

A natural communicator with a background in the world of luxury, João Pedro returned to the south determined to turn memory into narrative and a sense of place into curation.

Mustique Gourmet was born from the search for a haven - a place where life slows down and identity can breathe.

We found inspiration in Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, a woman who discovered on the island of Mustique a place where she could live authentically, beyond the confines others had placed around her. Her search for authenticity echoed our own.
